Question 2 - How do I get clients when I’m newly qualified?
Why it feels so hard
You finish learning your craft and then the real questions start.
How do people find me?
Why would anyone book with me?
What am I supposed to do first?
How do I get myself out there without feeling awkward?
That is the bit a lot of people are not prepared for.
You can leave training with skills, ability, and good intentions,
but still feel completely unsure how to turn any of that into actual clients.
That is why so many newly qualified service providers
end up stuck before they have really started.
What to focus on first
Start with the basics.
Get clear on:
what you offer
who it is for
how people can contact you
and what proof you can show.
People do not need to see everything.
They just need enough to understand what you do and how to take the next step.
That might mean:
clearer wording about your service
photos of your work
a simple offer
a price guide or starting price
a clear way to message or book
You do not need a huge plan.
You need something people can understand quickly.
What to stop doing
Stop thinking you need everything perfect before you begin.
You do not need a full brand, loads of followers, a fancy website,
or years of experience before you can start getting noticed.
You also do not need to try and offer everything to everyone.
The clearer you are, the easier it is for the right people to notice you.
Start where you are:
You can be good at what you do and still
have no idea how to get clients at the start.
That does not mean you are failing. It usually
just means nobody has shown you the business side yet.
If you are newly qualified and feeling unsure what to do first, start with the quiz
It will help you see what may be holding you back right now and what to focus on next.
Then you can move forward with a bit more clarity instead of sitting in your own head with it.
